Pernem, Nov 2: In a significant breakthrough, Pernem Police have successfully solved the recent blind gunshot firing case with the arrest of five suspects from Ugvem village. The arrests came following a meticulous operation combining technical surveillance and human intelligence.
The arrested accused have been identified as Nehal Nitin Mahale (20), Ashish Shivaji Mahale (24), Akash Arun Mahale (24), Rishikesh Dasharat Mahale (32), and Gangaram Gopichand Mahale (34) all hailing from Ugvem, Pernem.

According to police sources, two of the accused, Rishikesh Mahale and Gangaram Mahale, who are serving personnel of the India Reserve Battalion (IRB), are also under investigation for their suspected links with certain notorious criminal gangs.
Police have confirmed that further investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the firing and whether the accused were involved in any organized criminal network. The breakthrough marks a major success for Pernem Police in addressing rising gun-related incidents in the region.
