Udupi, Nov 3: St Cecily’s Eng Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm and grandeur on October 31.
A meaningful variety entertainment programme was presented by students of grade 7B showcasing the vibrant culture, heritage and traditions of this Land of Gold. The celebration was graced by the principal, Sr Lathika AC, the coordinator, teacher Jenifer and teacher Bhargavi, Kannada faculty as the esteemed chief guest.




























Ancilla Esther Jathanna accorded a gracious welcome to the chief guest and all gracing the occasion. The celebration commenced with an elegant prayer dance followed by the Universal prayer invoking the Almighty’s blessings on the State and its people.
The melodious and heart-touching rendition, 'Hachevu Kannadada Deepa' by the singers of the class evoked a deep sense of respect and love towards Karnataka and Kannada language. The students also showcased their talents through a variety of performances such as classical dance, folk dances, and thought- provoking skit on Rani Abbakka Chowta which reflected the valour and spirit of the proud Kannadigas.
In her inspirational message to the students, the chief guest, teacher Bharghavi lauded the exuberant performances. She urged them to speak and write Kannada with pride, emphasizing the importance of preserving and passing on the richness of our mother tongue to future generations. She encouraged them to strive for excellence in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities and awarded scholar badges to the class toppers of the midterm examination.
The audience, comprising of teachers, and students, enjoyed the programme immensely and applauded the remarkable performances. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, followed by rendition of the ‘Nada Geethe’, filling the air with patriotic fervour.
