Crime Branch seizes 500 boxes of illegal liquor in Kellini-Usgao raid

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Nov 4: In a significant move against illicit liquor trade, the Crime Branch confiscated approximately 500 boxes of unlicensed liquor from a godown in Kellini-Usgao.

Acting on a credible tip-off, the team conducted a raid and discovered the massive stockpile, which was being stored without proper permits. The premises were promptly sealed, and four individuals were taken into custody for their suspected involvement.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the liquor was intended for distribution without excise clearance. Authorities are now working to trace the source of the consignment and identify potential buyers. Both the seized stock and the detained suspects have been handed over to the Excise Department for further inquiry.
