Zuarinagar, Nov 5: A 34-year-old construction worker lost his life after falling from a building under construction at MVR Homes near MES College, Zuarinagar, on Monday. A minor girl sustained serious injuries after the worker accidentally landed on her during the fall.
The deceased has been identified as Tabrej Alam, a resident of Goa Velha and native of Bihar. According to Verna Police, Alam was engaged in plastering work on the third floor when he reportedly lost his balance and fell to the ground. During the fall, he landed on a minor girl who happened to be nearby, leaving her with injuries on the neck and head.

Both victims were immediately rushed to the Sub District Hospital, Chicalim, where doctors declared Alam brought dead. The injured girl was later referred to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, for further treatment.
Police conducted an inquest panchanama, and Alam’s body was shifted to South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medico-legal procedures. A case has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Pramila Fernandes under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar of Verna Police Station.
