New Delhi, Nov 5: Union minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of spreading “fabricated” claims of vote theft in Haryana to mislead and provoke the country’s youth.
Speaking at a press conference at BJP headquarters, Rijiju asserted that India’s youth stand “firmly with Prime Minister Modi” and will not be swayed by “imported narratives and conspiracies.”
Rijiju criticized Gandhi’s claim that 25 lakh votes were fraudulently cast in Haryana polls, saying: “Rahul Gandhi is trying to provoke Gen Z, but the youth of this country is wise and stands by PM Modi. The games he plays in collusion with anti-India forces will never succeed.”

Highlighting India’s economic growth, he added, “While the world faces an economic slowdown, India continues to grow at over 7%, making it the fastest-growing major economy. Our youth support Modi ji. Rahul Gandhi is trying to divert attention and defame the country, but such conspiracies will never succeed.”
Rijiju dismissed Gandhi’s allegations as “baseless, fictional, and theatrically designed to hide his failures”, questioning why the Congress leader does not approach the Election Commission or courts if he truly believes irregularities occurred.
Taking aim at Gandhi’s foreign trips, Rijiju remarked, “During elections he travels abroad; during Parliament sessions he visits Cambodia or Thailand. Now, with Bihar polls around the corner, he talks about Haryana. He brings back ideas to create fake narratives here.”
Rijiju also cited internal Congress voices, including Kumari Selja and former Haryana state chief Rao Narender Singh, highlighting party disunity and noting that even senior leaders attribute losses to internal failures, not vote manipulation.
Additionally, Rijiju criticized Gandhi for circulating a T-shirt in Parliament featuring the photo of Minta Devi, which was later revealed to be fake. “By evening, the woman herself scolded Congress for using a fake photo, name, and issue. This is their habit,” he said.
Concluding, Rijiju stated, “In a democracy, one must accept victory and defeat. BJP wins because of hard work on the ground, not manipulation. Rahul Gandhi should focus on serious issues instead of wasting the nation’s time.”
