Riyadh, Nov 8: Saudi Arabia is set to revolutionize travel and immigration procedures with the introduction of a Self-Deportation Platform and an AI-driven Smart Track System, Acting Director General of Passports Maj. Gen. Saleh Al-Murabba announced at the Digital Government Forum 2025 in Riyadh.
The Self-Deportation Platform will allow individuals residing illegally in the Kingdom to complete all departure formalities online, eliminating the need for in-person processing. Once technical and security checks are completed, violators of residency, labour, or border rules can access the digital portal to finalize travel documentation securely and efficiently.

Complementing this, the Smart Track System uses artificial intelligence and smart cameras to verify the identities of up to 35 travelers simultaneously, reducing the need for manual passport control and significantly cutting down airport queues. The system, integrated with Jawazat’s security databases, aims to create faster and smoother travel experiences across Saudi ports.
Digital transformation is also being extended through the Absher platform, which now offers over 100 online services and a digital passport system facilitating global travel. With more than 24 million users in 2024, Absher has become the backbone of Saudi Arabia’s e-governance push.
Officials confirmed that these initiatives, supported by Digital Twins technology and AI analytics, will enhance efficiency, improve passenger satisfaction, and make Saudi Arabia a global model for digital governance and border management.
