Amit Shah confirms investigation into Red Fort blast, all possibilities considered

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 10: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday evening confirmed that all possibilities are being investigated following the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort around 7 pm.

Speaking to the media, Shah stated that the explosion occurred in a Hyundai i20 car, damaging nearby vehicles and injuring several passersby. “As per preliminary information, there have also been some casualties,” he added.

The Home Minister said that within 10 minutes, teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Special Branch reached the site. Subsequently, personnel from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) were deployed, and the investigation has begun in full swing.

Shah emphasized that CCTV footage from surrounding areas is being examined, and a detailed forensic analysis of the site is underway. He assured the public that once conclusive findings are available, they will be shared.

The announcement comes after Jammu and Kashmir Police earlier on Monday busted an inter-state terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH) in Faridabad, Haryana, recovering 2,900 kg of explosives, two assault rifles, pistols, timers, and other material. Seven people were arrested in the operation.

This development occurs just a day before the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, raising security concerns ahead of the voting process.

The Home Minister confirmed that the government is closely monitoring the situation and investigations are ongoing from all possible angles.
