Annual Feast celebrated at Christ the King Church, Jog Falls

Shivamogga, Nov 11: The Annual Feast of Christ the King Church, Jog Falls was celebrated with great devotion and joy on November 11. In preparation for the feast, a three-day Triduum was held, each day focusing on a special theme inspired by the Jubilee Year 2025.

The Triduum began with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr Richard Anil, parish priest of St Joseph’s Church, Sagar. On the second day, the Holy Mass was offered by Fr Martin Rodrigues, and on the third day, the faithful participated in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, followed by Mass celebrated by Fr Lawrence D’Souza, parish priest of Kargal.

On the fourth day, the parish community gathered for the Holy Mass and Eucharistic procession, preparing their hearts for the solemn celebration of the feast.

 

The festal Mass on November 11 was solemnly celebrated at 10:30 am by Msgr Stany D’Souza, the delegate of the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Shimoga, concelebrated by about 40 priests. More than 1500 faithful participated in the celebration with deep faith and enthusiasm.

Msgr Stany D'Souza, in his homily, spoke about the Kingdom of God, explaining that it is invisible, yet it's a process with multiple facets. He enumerated the characteristics of Christ the King and encouraged the faithful to follow Christ with unwavering hope.

The entire liturgy and celebrations were conducted in a well-organized and prayerful manner. At the conclusion of the Mass, the parish priest, Fr Salvador Rodrigues, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the feast.
