Mangaluru, Nov 14: Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), Bondel, hosted ‘Vibez’, a cultural fest for PU college students, at its campus on Tuesday, November 11. The day-long event drew over 400 students from 18 PU colleges, who participated enthusiastically in a variety of competitions including solo and group singing, solo and group dance, reels making, photography, treasure hunt, mehndi, quiz, and fashion show.
Film actress and dancer Advika Shetty was the chief guest. Sr Floropia Borges, principal of Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Composite PU College, was the guest of honour. Manel Annappa Nayak, president of the Women’s National Education Society (WNES), presided over the programme. Also present on the dais were Suresh Pai, secretary, WNES, and Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, director, MSNIM. Ajith Kamath, correspondent, MSNIM, and Sathish Kumar Bhat, member, WNES and correspondent of Besant National PU College, were among the dignitaries in attendance.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Advika Shetty underlined the importance of perseverance and participation over mere victory. “Winning is not everything participation holds greater value,” she said, urging students to remain consistent and dedicated in whatever they do. Sharing her own experiences in the film industry, she remarked that life is full of highs and lows, but one must keep moving forward. “The show must go on,” she reminded the students, encouraging them to follow their passion and enjoy the journey, regardless of the outcome.
Guest of honour Sr Floropia Borges reflected on the event’s theme, 'Vibez — your stage, your story, your vibes'. She said that life itself is a stage where every individual writes their own story and creates their unique energy around it. She commended the participants for their efforts, observing that those who achieve success do so by giving their best.
In his presidential address, Manel Annappa Nayak motivated students to work with focus and discipline as they prepare to build their future careers. He urged them to channel their energy toward meaningful goals and to approach their ambitions with dedication and purpose.
MBA student Diya B welcomed the gathering and anchored the programme, while Yagnesh proposed the vote of thanks. Assistant professors Sanath Bhandarkar and Divya Achar were the programme coordinators.
