Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka felicitates K Vasanth Rao

Mangaluru, Nov 14: The former president of the Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka (KBMK), and vice president of the Dakshina Kannada District Scouts and Guides, Lion K Vasanth Rao, was felicitated by KBMK at its executive meeting on the occasion of receiving an honor during the 2025 District Rajyotsava celebrations of Dakshina Kannada.

At the meeting held in the BEM School Compound, Car Street Hall, the owner of SL Shet Diamonds and an invited member of KBMK, Prashanth Shet, who performed the felicitation, said, “Serving the language may not bring money, wealth, or fame; instead, it gives the inner satisfaction of serving our mother tongue. People with different thoughts coming together should limit their work to the single purpose of love for the mother language.”

KBMK president Raymond D’Cunha Taccode spoke, saying, “The disciplined movement and precise working style of senior Vasanth Rao is something all of us should follow.” Vice president Meenakshi Pai, seniors Geetha Kini, Suresh Shenoi, Juliet Fernandes, Adolph D’Souza, Aravind Shanbhagh, and Shanti Veronica were present.

The honouree, Vasanth Rao, said that although he did not seek the Rajyotsava award, the recognition reminded him of the service he rendered to KBMK and brought him satisfaction.

Secretary of KBMK Liston Derick D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
