New Delhi, Nov 15: Former Union Minister and senior Bihar leader RK Singh has been suspended by the BJP over allegations of anti-party activities, just a day after the party secured victory in the state elections. Singh, a two-time MP from Arrah, had been openly criticising the NDA leadership and levelling strong allegations against the Nitish Kumar government.
In its notice issued on Friday morning, the BJP said Singh’s conduct violated party discipline and caused organisational harm. “You are indulging in anti-party activities… Therefore, you are being suspended and asked to explain why you should not be expelled. Clarify your position within a week,” the letter stated.

A former diplomat, Singh served as Home Secretary during the Manmohan Singh government before joining the BJP in 2013. He won from Arrah in 2014 and 2019, and was appointed Power Minister in the Modi 1.0 cabinet. He lost his seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
