Mangaluru, Nov 15: Carmel School, CBSE, Kotekar, celebrated Children’s Day with immense joy, warmth, and affection on November 14 in the school auditorium. The event was graced by principal Sr Pramila, administrator Sr Julie Ann, and vice principal Sr Anitha, whose presence added inspiration and encouragement to the occasion.
The celebration commenced with a soulful prayer song by the teachers, invoking God’s blessings upon all children. This was followed by a thoughtful reflection by Tr Tripthi, who beautifully highlighted the significance of Children’s Day and the importance of nurturing every child with love, dignity, and compassion.

A vibrant Goan folk dance served as the welcome performance, setting a festive tone for the morning. The programme was further enriched by teacher Vinutha’s melodious singing, creating an atmosphere of serenity and delight. The teachers’ energetic Retro Metro dance brought the auditorium alive with excitement, leaving students cheering with enthusiasm.
A humorous yet insightful skit, 'Ajji Pulli', was then presented, offering valuable life lessons through light-hearted storytelling. To deepen student engagement, a short quiz based on the skit was conducted, and the winners were applauded and awarded.
In a touching tribute to the students, the teachers presented a wishing song, expressing their appreciation and affection for every child. This was followed by a humorous dance that added laughter and joy to the celebration. The male staff also took the stage with a lively dance performance, infusing the programme with high energy and spirited fun.
The event included the distribution of certificates to the winners of Talent Day and the recreational games held in honour of Children’s Day. A delightful surprise awaited the students when all the teachers joined together for a flash mob, symbolising unity, spontaneity, and the special bond shared with the children.
In her address, principal Sr Pramila extended her heartfelt wishes to the students and commended the teachers for organising a memorable celebration. She shared an inspiring story that emphasised the importance of choosing to sow seeds of values, kindness, and courage. She reminded students that while everyone has the power to nurture these seeds or neglect them, those who choose goodness will lead meaningful and fruitful lives. She urged the children to spread kindness, uplift others, and continue being the light of the school, the pride of their parents, and the promise of a bright future.
Head girl Nirali proposed a gracious vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all who contributed to the success of the celebration. The event was seamlessly and creatively compered by Sr Anitha and Swetha R.
The celebration concluded on a joyful and inspiring note, reaffirming that every child is a blessing, a treasure of hope, and a radiant beam guiding the world toward a brighter tomorrow.
