Mumbai, Nov 15: Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up for a major milestone as it prepares to launch the XEV 9S on November 27, marking the company’s first all-electric three-row SUV. The latest teaser offers a clearer look at the production-ready design, confirming several elements first showcased on the XUV.e8 concept.
The XEV 9S features a bold, stacked headlamp setup, moving away from the conventional lighting signature of the ICE-powered XUV700. A striking boomerang-shaped LED DRL, the updated Twin Peaks logo, and a redesigned rear profile—including a shark fin antenna and new tail lamp graphics—highlight the SUV’s modern EV identity.

Inside, Mahindra has revealed fresh glimpses of the cabin, particularly the first two rows. A wide triple-screen dashboard layout dominates the interior, echoing the digital-focused approach seen in earlier born-electric SUVs like the XEV 9e and BE 6. The carmaker, however, continues to keep the third row under wraps, fueling curiosity about how Mahindra has packaged the additional seating within the modular INGLO platform.
Although the rear styling remains close to the XUV700, the XEV 9S appears taller and more upright, aligning with its family-oriented purpose. As Mahindra’s third born-electric product, it is expected to share its battery tech and motor options with the XEV 9e and BE 6. Despite its added weight, the SUV is likely to maintain an impressive real-world driving range of over 500 km.
The XEV 9S is set to arrive with a premium feature list, including a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated seats with massage and memory functions, and an extensive suite of Level 2 ADAS technologies such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and blind-spot detection. With the XEV 9e and BE 6 already boasting five-star safety ratings, Mahindra is expected to continue the trend with its newest flagship EV.
