Mangaluru: South Kanara Photographers’ Association celebrates Children’s Day

Mangaluru, Nov 17: The South Kanara Photographers’ Association (R), Mangalore Zone, celebrated Children’s Day with great enthusiasm at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, Parapade, Akashbhavan, hosting a vibrant ‘Colorful Art’ drawing competition along with a series of lively games and sports activities for primary students.

Cleanliness & shramadana held ahead of event

On November 13, association members carried out a cleanliness and shramadana drive on the school premises, with large participation reflecting their commitment to community service and student welfare.

Fun-filled games & competitions

On Children’s Day, November 14, the school campus came alive as children actively took part in various games, sports events, and drawing competitions, adding cheer and excitement to the celebrations.

Tree Conservation Campaign launched

Environment activist Madhav Ullal graced the occasion as chief guest and launched the Tree Conservation Campaign. Several dignitaries were present, including:

• Jagannath Shetty – Former district president
• Lokesh – Former zone president
• Madhu Mangalore – Honorary president
• Prashanth Shetty – Zone president
• Naveen Bangera – General secretary
• Prabhakar Kulal – Vice president
• Shreekanth Tilak – Vice president
• Nikhil D’Souza – Treasurer
• Chandravathi – Nodal officer
• Rekha – Head teacher

A tree-planting programme was also conducted with enthusiastic participation from students.

Prizes distributed to winners

The winners of the art, sports, and games competitions received prizes from the chief guest and dignitaries, encouraging the young participants.
