Opposition parties form Grand Alliance for Goa Zilla Panchayat polls

Panaji, Nov 17: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Monday announced that the Congress, Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP), and Goa Forward Party will jointly contest the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections under a new banner — the Grand Opposition Alliance (G.O.A.).

Alemao said the partnership will not be limited to the local polls and is set to continue through the 2027 Goa Assembly elections as well.

Discussions on seat-sharing for the ZP elections are in the final stages, and a formal declaration is expected shortly.
