Mangaluru, Nov 18: A man from Mangaluru has lodged a complaint with the CEN Station alleging he was cheated of Rs 2.7 crore in a stock market investment scam run through a WhatsApp group.
The victim stated that on October 15 he was added without consent to a group titled “F1 HDFC Securities”, operated by unknown individuals identified as Dheeraj Relli and Sunita Agarwal. The group regularly circulated stock tips and investment claims, eventually gaining his trust.

He was then directed to a website link where he submitted his details and began transferring money in phases between October 27 and November 12, sending a total of Rs 2.7 crore to various accounts shared by the suspects.
The fraud surfaced when the scammers demanded further payment to release the supposed profits. After consulting his children, the victim realised he had been duped and approached the police.
CEN station has registered a case and initiated investigation.
