Indore, Nov 19: A late-night journey turned chaotic in Madhya Pradesh’s commercial hub Indore when a national-level woman shooter from Pune accused a bus conductor of touching her inappropriately under the guise of checking her ticket, triggering panic and drama on board a private passenger bus.
According to police sources, the shooter, aged around 30, was returning to Pune after participating in a national shooting championship held in Bhopal. She boarded a private bus from the state capital on Monday evening, with the incident unfolding as the vehicle entered Indore around 1.30 am.

The shooter alleged that the conductor misbehaved with her and touched her inappropriately while enquiring about her ticket. As the bus halted during routine night patrolling in the Rajendra Nagar area, she raised an alarm, confronting the conductor in front of police personnel.
Sensing trouble, both the bus driver and conductor reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled into the darkness, leaving several passengers stranded on the roadside. Police officials immediately stepped in to manage the situation.
“After the matter came to light, we arranged an alternative driver and conductor so the passengers could continue their journey. When asked for a written complaint, the woman said she would consult her family and get back,” Additional DCP (Crime Branch) Rajesh Dandotiya told the media.
By the time of filing this report on Tuesday evening, the shooter had not submitted an official complaint. The bus eventually resumed its journey after a delay of nearly 90 minutes, departing around 3.15 am.
This incident comes barely 25 days after a similar outrage in the city, when two Australian women cricketers participating in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup were allegedly stalked and molested by a notorious offender, Aqeel, while walking to a café near Radisson Blu Hotel. The suspect, previously involved in multiple criminal cases, was arrested a day later.
