New Delhi, Nov 19: : In a major breakthrough against the Lawrence Bishnoi-led terror-gangster network, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested Anmol Bishnoi—brother and trusted aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi—following his deportation from the United States.
Anmol, who had been on the run since 2022, is the 19th accused to be taken into custody in connection with the NIA’s ongoing probe into the sprawling terror syndicate. The agency had filed a chargesheet against him in March 2023 after uncovering his active role in supporting designated terrorist Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi between 2020 and 2023.

According to the NIA, Anmol operated from the US while coordinating with Bishnoi gang members in India. He is accused of directing terror operations, facilitating attacks, and providing shelter and logistical backing to shooters and ground workers associated with the syndicate. Investigators also allege that he was deeply involved in extortion rackets in India, orchestrated from abroad with the help of other gangsters.
The arrest is part of the NIA's investigation under case RC 39/2022/NIA/DLI, which focuses on dismantling the nexus among terrorists, organised crime syndicates, and arms traffickers. Officials say the agency is working to systematically eliminate the gang’s operational infrastructure and financial channels.
Anmol Bishnoi is wanted in multiple high-profile cases. These include the conspiracy to murder former Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Mumbai last October. He is also accused in the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra residence in April last year. His alleged involvement in orchestrating the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala remains one of the most serious charges against him.
The NIA is continuing its investigation, with officials stating that Anmol’s arrest is expected to yield critical intelligence on the gang's international operations and funding networks.
