New Delhi, Nov 21: Navi UPI has teamed up with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to introduce QR-based metro ticketing on its app, offering commuters in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru a single platform to plan routes, book tickets and make payments.
The feature supports single and return journey QR tickets and removes the need for separate apps or cash transactions. Navi said the service will soon expand to Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.

Rajiv Naresh, MD & CEO of Navi Limited, said the integration aims to ease queues and provide a fully digital option for daily metro commuters. ONDC senior executive director Nitin Nair said the partnership shows how open networks can support multiple transport systems through one integration.
The service is currently active for Delhi Metro, Mumbai Metro Lines 1, 2A, 7 and 3, and Bengaluru Metro. ONDC said the initiative aligns with its mobility push to bring transport services onto interoperable digital networks.
With India’s metro systems serving 1.15 crore daily riders — over 40% of whom still use cash or physical tickets — Navi UPI believes digital ticketing can boost digital payment adoption.
Navi Limited offers financial services including loans, insurance, mutual funds and UPI payments, while ONDC, set up by DPIIT, promotes open protocols for interoperable digital commerce.
