Shivamogga, Nov 24: The inter-diocesan Christ The King celebration took place at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga, on Sunday, November 23, at 5 pm. The event brought together the Diocese of Shimoga, the Diocese of Bhadravati (Syro Malabar), and the Syro Malankara Church, along with their faithful, clergy, and religious communities. The Holy Rosary, led by Fr Franklin D'Souza, preceded the celebration at 4:30 pm.
At 5:15 pm, his excellency Dr Duming Dias, apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Shimoga, concelebrated the holy eucharist with his excellency Dr Joseph Arumachadath, bishop of the Diocese of Bhadravati, and his excellency Dr Geevarghese Makarios, bishop of the Diocese of Puttur. A substantial number of priests, religious, and faithful participated in the festal mass and offered prayers for peace.














































































Bishop Geevarghese Makarios delivered a profound homily on the significance of Christ The King, encouraging the faithful to emulate Jesus Christ and uphold the truth. It is imperative that we collectively and fervently pray for global peace.
After the Mass, a eucharistic procession was organised in the streets of Shivamogga. The faithful prayed the Rosary, sang hymns for Christ the King, and publicly honored the Lord Jesus Christ. Benediction was held in the church. Bishop Joseph Arumachadath carried the Eucharistic Lord throughout the procession.
Upon the return of the eucharistic procession to the church, Fr Franklin D'Souza conducted healing prayers, followed by Bishop Duming Dias and Bishop Joseph Arumachadath leading the benediction and final blessing.
The liturgy and procession were meticulously organised by Fr Stany D'Souza, dean of Mount Carmel deanery and parish priest of Sacred Heart Cathedral, in collaboration with Fr George K A, dean of Little Flower Deanery, Fr Ronald D'Cunha, dean of Holy Family Deanery, Fr Roman Pinto, dean of vianney deanery, deanery priests, religious, and the faithful.
Fr Stany D'Souza, on behalf of the Diocese of Shimoga, extended his gratitude to all who contributed selflessly to the successful celebration of the Christ The King feast.
