Mangaluru, Nov 25: The young athletes of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru delivered an inspiring performance at the AICS Athletics Meet for DK district, held at Sharada Vidyanikethana Public School, Talapady on Friday, November 21. With determination in their stride and excellence in their spirit, the students brought home an impressive tally of medals and trophies.
The track arena witnessed an exceptional feat by Johan Gladson, who clinched 1st place in both the 800m and 400m races, earning him the much-coveted individual championship.






Adding strength to the sprint events, Darren Luke D’Souza secured 2nd place in the 200m, and soared to victory with a 1st place in long jump.
In the 100m dash, Sonal Poojary sprinted his way to a commendable 2nd place, showcasing remarkable speed and grit.
The school’s under-17 boys relay team with Sonal Poojary, Darren Luke, Vihaan Hegde and Johan Gladson put up a thrilling performance, racing their way to 2nd place, contributing to the team’s overall success. Their consistent excellence ensured that the under-17 boys emerged as the winners, lifting the winners' trophy with pride.
The Carmel spirit continued on the girls’ track as well. In the 800m, Jesnia Correa delivered an impressive finish to claim 2nd place, and later joined hands with Jnanavi B M, Rache l Mathews, and Venessa Concessao to secure 3rd place in the under-17 girls relay.
In the 400m event of under-14 boys, Aldrich D’Souza showcased resilience and speed, earning a well-deserved 3rd place.
