Two FIRs filed after violent clash at Morjim resort

Panaji, Dec 4: Mandrem police have registered two FIRs after a violent confrontation erupted at La Garcia Resort in New Waddo, Morjim.

In the first complaint, Kamaljit Singh alleged that Sanjay KR Gupta, Rajiv Uppal and about 30 unidentified individuals formed an unlawful assembly and forced their way into the resort armed with hockey sticks, a gun and wooden sticks. The group allegedly vandalised CCTV cameras, the DVR system and several parked cars, in addition to assaulting resort staff.

A cross FIR was subsequently filed by Rajiv Uppal, who claimed that Singh and other resort employees wrongfully restrained him and his associates from entering Room No. 201. Uppal also alleged that they were verbally abused, assaulted and that their vehicle was damaged during the altercation.

Police are investigating both complaints to determine the sequence of events and identify all individuals involved.
