Mangaluru, Dec 6: Srinivas Yoga – Sanskrit Studies & Research Centre will be organising an international conference on Sustainability through Indian knowledge & Sanskrit heritage on Saturday, December 13 at 9.30 am at the auditorium of Srinivas University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Mukka, Surathkal..
Established in the year 2021, the Department of Sanskrit currently has more than 90 PhD research scholars. Srinivas University successfully hosted its first International Conference on Sanskrit in 2023, followed by the second International Conference in 2024. The third edition of the International Conference on Indian Knowledge & Sanskrit Heritage will be held on Saturday, December 13 at Mukka Campus.

Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University, will preside over the programme. His Holiness Sri Vishwapriya Tirtha Swamiji of Sri Adamaru Matha will inaugurate the International Conference and deliver the benedictory address.
Dr Tanmay Goswami (former vice chancellor of Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh and founder of Gosval - Global Organisation for Scientific Validation of Ayurveda & Life-Sciences), Dr A Srinivas Rao (pro-chancellor of Srinivas University), and Prof Dr Anjay Kumar Mishra (dean of Madesh University, Nepal) will be the distinguished chief guests.
A Vijayalakshmi R Rao (trustee-member, board of governors, Srinivas University), Prof Er A Mitra S Rao (trustee-member, board of governors, Srinivas University), Dr K Sathyanarayana Reddy (vice chancellor, Srinivas University), Prof Dr Uday Kumar Maiya (renowned oncologist and medical expert from Bengaluru) will be the distinguished guests of honour.
Conveners of the international conference Prof Dr A R Shabaraya (principal of Srinivas College of Pharmacy), and Prof Dr Praveen B M (director - Research, Srinivas University); coordinators Prof Dr B Gopalachar, Prof Dr Ganapathi Bhat, Prof Dr Sonda Bhaskar Bhat, Prof Dr Aravind Shanbhag, Prof Dr Shankaranarayana Bhat, and Prof Dr Divakar Bhat will also be present.
Renowned Sanskrit scholars and researchers from India and Abroad will present research papers on a wide range of themes, including Sanskrit and Health Sciences, Indian Medical Practices, Ancient Indian Architecture and Vastu, Ancient Indian Astronomy and Khagola Shastra, Sanskrit and Agriculture with Environmental Protection, Sanskrit and Future Planning, Sanskrit and Psychology, Yoga, Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Vedas, Puranas, Bhagavad Gita, Upanishath, Great Indian Epics, Naatya Shastra and Sangeeta Shastra.
To promote awareness of Sanskrit language, Indian culture and artistic heritage among the youth, a special cultural competition titled “Sanskrit – Samskriti Utsava: A Cultural Show” has been organised for the PUC and High School students. The event will showcase dance, music, shloka recitation, instrumental performances and various art forms reflecting India’s cultural legacy.
There will be ten participants in each team, and each team will be given a performance duration of 15 minutes. The best teams will be awarded first, second and third prize. All the participants will receive certificates of participation. This initiative aims to enhance cultural awareness and provide students an opportunity to participate in an international academic event.
The valedictory ceremony will be held at 4 pm. Dr Tara Prasad Goutam (asst campus chief, Madan Bhandari Memorial College, affiliated to Tribhuvan University, Nepal) and Dr Shiha Mishra (member - province, policy & planning commission, Mahadesh Province Government, Nepal) will be the distinguished guests of honour.
A major highlight of the programme will be a grand exhibition featuring antiques and traditional rural items from Tulu Nadu, and an extensive display of ancient coins and currency. The exhibition is open for students, enthusiasts and the general public.
