Bijnor, Dec 7: In a heart-wrenching incident, a man allegedly poisoned his two young children before taking his own life following a marital dispute on Saturday, police confirmed.

Chandpur Circle Officer Deshdeepak Singh said Baburam (28) took his son Deepanshu (5) and daughter Harshika (3) to a forest near Mubarakpur Khadar village on Saturday afternoon. There, he reportedly poisoned the children and later consumed poison himself.

All three were rushed to the hospital after police received information, but doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Preliminary investigation suggests the tragedy stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Baburam and his wife. Family members told the police that tensions had been simmering between the couple for several days.

Additional Superintendent of Police Prakash Kumar said the incident was reported from Mubarakpur Khurd village, with police alerted by hospital authorities in the evening.

Baburam’s body has been sent for post-mortem, while the bodies of the two children were taken home by relatives, the ASP added.
