Udupi, Dec 10: The ACM student chapter of SMVITM, Bantakal, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of the SMVITM ACM student chapter and the installation of its office bearers for the academic year 2025–26. The event was held on December 3, at the Seminar Hall of the Admin Block.
The ceremony began with traditional lamp lighting by chief guest Dr Srikanth Prabhu, professor and ACM faculty sponsor from MIT, Manipal, along with Dr Nagaraj Bhat, principal, SMVITM, who graced the event as guest of honor. The programme was presided over by Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, CEO, SODE Group of Institutions.


In her welcome address, Dr Bharti Panjwani, ACM coordinator, highlighted the significance of the ACM Society in fostering technical excellence. The digital launch of the ACM student chapter followed, after which the newly elected office bearers received their badges and took the official oath administered by the chief guest.
Inspirational messages from the principal and CEO emphasized the institution’s commitment to holistic education, global collaboration, and technical advancement. Delivering the keynote address, Dr Prabhu urged students to uphold integrity, pursue deep learning in engineering, and utilize ACM as a platform for societal benefit.
