Fire breaks out at autorickshaw godown in Thane, no casualties

Thane, Dec 14: A fire broke out early Sunday morning at a godown storing autorickshaws in Maharashtra’s Thane district, officials said. No casualties were reported in the incident.

The blaze was reported around 5.45 am at a godown located in Kalher area of Bhiwandi. On receiving the alert, fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations.

Officials said several autorickshaws parked inside the godown were affected by the fire. Efforts were ongoing to completely douse the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby areas.

The exact cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, officials added.
