New Delhi, Dec 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin a three-country diplomatic tour from Monday, with visits scheduled to Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman, aimed at strengthening India’s bilateral ties and deepening engagement on regional and global issues.
The Prime Minister will first travel to Jordan at the invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. During the two-day visit, PM Modi will hold talks with the Jordanian monarch to review the full spectrum of India–Jordan relations and exchange views on key regional developments.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Jordan and is expected to further enhance bilateral cooperation, open new avenues for collaboration, and reaffirm the shared commitment to regional peace, security and stability.
In the second phase of the tour, PM Modi will undertake a State Visit to Ethiopia from December 16, following an invitation from Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. This will be the Prime Minister’s first visit to the African nation.
The MEA said that PM Modi will hold comprehensive discussions with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali covering all aspects of India–Ethiopia relations. As members of the Global South, both countries are expected to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening friendship and expanding bilateral cooperation.
The final leg of the tour will take the Prime Minister to Oman from December 17 to 18, at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. India and Oman share a broad-based Strategic Partnership rooted in centuries-old ties, trade relations and strong people-to-people connections.
The MEA noted that the visit marks 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations and follows the Sultan of Oman’s State visit to India in December 2023. Discussions will focus on reviewing cooperation across sectors such as trade, investment, energy, defence, security, technology, agriculture and culture, along with deliberations on regional and global issues of shared interest.
This will be Prime Minister Modi’s second visit to Oman.
