New Delhi, Dec 15: The Indian Army organised the Vijay Diwas ‘At Home’ ceremony at Army House on Monday to commemorate Vijay Diwas, marking the decisive victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1971 war.

President Droupadi Murmu attended the event, which highlighted the Indian Army’s evolution into a modern, innovative and self-reliant force.

According to the Defence Ministry, the celebrations featured an extensive display of indigenously developed technologies and niche capabilities, reflecting the Army’s steady transformation. The exhibits showcased the growing collaboration between Indian soldiers, engineers, startups and academic institutions in developing cutting-edge solutions to strengthen national security.

A wide range of homegrown equipment and innovations was on display, underscoring the Army’s journey towards becoming a future-ready force. Several of the technologies demonstrated dual-use potential, with applications in disaster response, infrastructure development and sustainability, the ministry said.

The event was attended by a large number of distinguished guests, including 73 ambassadors and high commissioners, gallantry award winners, eminent sportspersons, achievers from various fields and senior leaders from the Indian establishment.

The Vijay Diwas ‘At Home’ displays reaffirmed that the Indian Army’s transformation is being driven by Indian minds, Indian industry and Indian values, blending operational experience with innovation to enhance national security while promoting self-reliance and sustainable development, the ministry added.
