Karkala, Dec 16: Manjunatha Pai Memorial Government First Grade College, organised a business quiz under the aegis of the Commerce and Management Association as part of its academic activities for the year 2025–26.

The decision to conduct the quiz was taken at the beginning of the academic year by the association’s teacher in-charge along with student coordinators, following strong demand from students. The competition commenced in August 2025, with as many as 88 teams participating in the first round. After successive elimination rounds, five teams qualified for the sixth and final round.

The finalists were Sathwik and Suhan (II BBA), Deekshith Shetty and Srinivas Nayak (II BBA), Poorvi and Sampreetha (II BCom AEDP Logistics), Ashish and Suman Kumar (II BBA), and Karthik Nayak and Dhanush (III BCom A).

The final round of the quiz was held on December 15 in the college auditorium. Dr Avinash from the Department of Commerce, MPM Karkala, served as the quiz master. After five intense rounds, the winner was decided by the final question, adding excitement to the event.

Ashish and Suman Kumar of II BBA secured the first place, followed by Sathwik and Suhan of II BBA in second place. Karthik Nayak and Dhanush of III BCom A bagged the third place.

The organisers congratulated the winners and appreciated all participating teams for their enthusiastic involvement, which contributed to the success of the ‘MPM Business Brain’ quiz. Special appreciation was extended to Principal Prof Suresh Rai K for his encouragement throughout the semester.

Prof Chandravathi, SWO and principal in-charge, addressed the gathering with motivating words before the commencement of the finals. Louis Manoj, coordinator of the Commerce Association, welcomed the gathering, while Dr Sunitha Pereira, coordinator of the Management Association, proposed the vote of thanks. Faculty members from the Commerce and Management departments were present on the occasion.
