Noida, Dec 19: A wave of panic swept through Noida in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar district after several well-known schools received threatening emails warning of bomb explosions on their campuses, prompting emergency evacuations and large-scale security checks.
One of the alerts was received by Step by Step School in Sector 126, where the school management immediately initiated safety protocols. Students and staff were evacuated as police were informed about the threat. Law enforcement teams swiftly reached the campus, sealed the premises and began an intensive search operation to ensure the safety of everyone on site.

Bomb disposal units and dog squads were deployed to scan classrooms, corridors, basements, playgrounds and other vulnerable areas of the school. After a detailed sweep, officials confirmed that no suspicious objects or explosive materials were found, and the threat was later declared a hoax.
Police said the incident is part of a worrying pattern of fake bomb threats targeting schools across Noida and the wider National Capital Region in recent months. Along with Step by Step School, Amity School and Shiv Nadar School were also reported to have received similar threatening emails, creating anxiety among school authorities, parents and students.
The Noida Police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident, with the cyber cell tasked with tracing the origin of the emails. Efforts are underway to identify the sender by tracking the IP address and to determine whether the act was a prank or part of a coordinated attempt to create fear.
Meanwhile, police have urged schools and the public to remain vigilant without giving in to panic. Authorities advised that any suspicious information or activity should be reported immediately, while cautioning against spreading rumours or unverified claims that could further escalate fear.
