Sullia, Dec 22: The Christmas Harmony Celebration 2025 was held in a grand manner on December 21, at the premises of St Brigid’s Church, under the aegis of the Church Pastoral Council.
The programme was presided over by parish priest FrAlvin Edward D’Cunha. The chief guests for the occasion were K T Vishwanath, chief executive officer of Shree Venkataramana Credit Cooperative Society, main branch, Sullia, and auto driver S A Mohammed. Guests of honour included Sr Cecily Sebastian, superior of St Assisi Sadan Convent; Sr Gracy D’Souza, superior of St Raymond’s Convent; vice-president Naveen Machado; secretary Julia Crasta; and Kavitha D’Souza, coordinator of the 21 commissions, all of whom were present on the dais.







In recognition of their contributions to society, K T Vishwanath and S A Mohammed were felicitated on the occasion. Winners of various games organised as part of the Christmas celebrations, winners of the star competition, and donors were also honoured.
Addressing the gathering, chief guest K T Vishwanath said that the contribution of Christians to society has been immense and extended Christmas greetings, urging everyone to live in peace and harmony by rising above caste and religious differences. Presiding over the programme, Fr Alvin Edward D’Cunha said that peace can prevail only when people place trust in God and in one another. He emphasised that peace should be the guiding principle of life and called upon everyone to live harmoniously in society, while extending Christmas wishes to all.
Following the formal programme, a variety of cultural performances were presented by members of the parish. Naveen Machado welcomed the gathering, Sunitha Monteiro proposed the vote of thanks, and Anita Mascarenhas and Priscilla Pinto compered the programme.
Religious sisters, women’s organisations, Catholic Sabha, choir members, SVP, ICYM, YCS members, Christian education teachers and parishioners extended their cooperation to ensure the success of the celebration.
