Udupi, Dec 24: St Mary’s English Medium School, Kannarpady celebrated Christmas with great joy and festive spirit during a special morning programme on December 23 in St Mary’s Auditorium filled with prayer, music, dance, and meaningful performances. The celebration reflected the true message of Christmas—love, sharing, kindness, and togetherness.
The programme began on a prayerful note with a melodious prayer song by the school choir, invoking God’s blessings upon everyone present. This was followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Ashlin of grade 4, setting a cheerful tone for the day. The programme was graced by the presence of Fr Charles Menezes, the correspondent of the School, Fr Leo Praveen D’Souza, assistant parish priest, Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi, Fr Vijay Joyson D’Souza, the principal and Rita Quadros, the vice principal.




















































One of the most delightful moments of the celebration was the Christmas cake cutting by the dignitaries, symbolizing love, unity, and sharing. The gathering was then addressed by the correspondent, Fr Charles Menezes, whose inspiring message reminded everyone of the true meaning of Christmas and encouraged students to practice kindness, gratitude, and compassion in their daily lives.
As part of the celebration, Christmas sweets were distributed to the academic coordinators, spreading joy and smiles. Students celebrating their birthdays on the same day were also acknowledged, making the moment even more special.
The cultural segment of the programme showcased the creativity and talent of the students. The festive spirit was further enhanced through joyful carol singing by the talented students, filling the atmosphere with happiness and Christmas cheer. The adorable Christmas dance by the kindergarten students won hearts, followed by an energetic and lively dance performance by students of grades 6 to 9. A beautifully presented Christmas tableau and a meaningful Christmas skit highlighted the message of humility, love, and hope associated with the birth of Jesus Christ.
The programme concluded on an exciting note with the grand entry of Santa Claus, bringing laughter, joy, and festive cheer among the students.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Nicholas of grade 6. The entire celebration was efficiently compered by Nishka of grade 6 and Kellan of grade 7. The Christmas celebration was a memorable event that brought the entire school community together, leaving everyone with happy hearts and a renewed spirit of love and goodwill.
