Mangaluru, Dec 24: The Christmas programme at Dr M V Shetty Institutions was organised with the objective of fostering cultural harmony, promoting institutional unity, and celebrating the spirit of joy and goodwill associated with the festival.
The programme was conducted over a period of three days, from December 18 to 20, and culminated in a formal celebration held on December 20 in the auditorium.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr Divyanjali Shetty, managing trustee, Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust. The programme coordinators Dr L Gladson Jose (COP) welcomed the Trustee with a floral bouquet and Dr Satish K (Principal, COSH) welcomed the academic associate Dr Prakasha Amin. The event commenced with a prayer song rendered by the students Niya, Angel, and Devananda invoking a solemn and festive atmosphere. Candle lighting of lamp was by the dignitaries.









































As part of the Christmas celebrations, a variety of creative and cultural competitions were conducted over three days from December 18 to 20. These included star making competition, greeting card making, crib making, and carol singing, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of all colleges. The competitions encouraged creativity, teamwork, and the true spirit of Christmas.
Adding vibrancy to the programme, each college presented a dance performance, showcasing talent, cultural diversity, and festive cheer. The performances were well-appreciated by the audience and added colour and energy to the celebration.
Prize winners of various competitions are :
Start making competition: 1st prize bagged by Shraddaja and Yashashwini K (IAHS) and 2nd prize by Sonia and Elizabeth (COP)
Carol singing: 1st prize: Jishnu, Aksa, Juslin, Ludia, Adithya, Harsha, Keerthana, Alfred (COSH) and 2nd prize - Joel, Angel, Aleena, Abhinand, Jibin, Sreya, Abigail (COP)
Greeting card making: 1st prize - Vrinda (COSH) and 2nd prize – Drishya (COP)
Crib making competition: 1st prize -Abidha, Najwa, Asish, Riona, Abdul (COSH) and 2nd prize – Shared by Kevin, Joyna, Diya, Angel, Radhika (COP) and Ann Mariya, Joshma, Jisna, Sreen and Sachin (CON).
The Christmas programme concluded on a joyful note with a cake and refreshment, spreading the message of love, peace, unity, and goodwill among all.
The proceedings of the programme were efficiently conducted by the Masters of Ceremony, Ibah Issac and Shivani Saxena. Principals, staff and students of nursing, physiotherapy, AHS, IPSM, Speech and hearing and education were present.
The event was a memorable celebration that brought together management, faculty, and students reflecting the strong sense of community and togetherness at Dr M V Shetty Institutions.
