Four of family killed as car overturns near Chandrapur

Chandrapur, Dec 25: Four members of a family, including children, were killed in a tragic road accident near Devad village in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra late on Wednesday night.

According to sources, six members of the family, all residents of Khagaznagar town in Kumram Bheem–Asifabad district, had travelled to Nagpur a day earlier for medical treatment. While they were returning home, the driver allegedly lost control of the car near Devad village, causing the vehicle to ram into a culvert and overturn.

Four occupants died on the spot due to the impact, while the remaining two sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Police reached the spot, shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination and are investigating the cause of the accident.
