Fire breaks out at City Mall in Andheri West; no injuries reported

Mumbai, Dec 27: A fire broke out at City Mall on New Link Road near the PVR Cinema in Andheri West on Saturday afternoon, prompting an immediate response from fire and emergency services.

According to preliminary information, the blaze was reported around 2.20 pm. Thick grey smoke was seen billowing from the mall complex and rising high into the sky, causing panic among residents and commuters in the surrounding area. The smoke was visible from a considerable distance, with nearby residential buildings partially enveloped.

Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot soon after receiving the alert and launched firefighting operations. Officials said their priority was to contain the fire within the mall premises and prevent it from spreading to adjoining structures.

At the time of reporting, authorities confirmed that no injuries had been reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and details regarding the extent of damage to the mall are awaited.
