Hyderabad, Jan 2: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Thursday said that India has overtaken several countries on the global stage due to the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing people during a Basthi Visit in Hyderabad, Reddy said that while many developed nations are grappling with multiple challenges, India is progressing in a peaceful environment with strong public support, enabling the smooth implementation of development programmes.

He urged citizens to further strengthen Prime Minister Modi’s leadership in the new year to help India move forward towards becoming a ‘Vishwaguru’ (global leader).

Highlighting the achievements of the Modi government, Reddy said major initiatives in infrastructure development, welfare schemes, peace and internal security, foreign policy, economic reforms and GST implementation have benefited the common man, including through reduction in prices of essential goods.

The minister also asserted that terrorism has been effectively curbed, stating that threats backed by Pakistan’s ISI have been firmly crushed under the present government.

Earlier, during his visit to slums and bastis in the city, Reddy directed officials from various departments to promptly address local issues and ensure the provision of seamless civic amenities to residents.
