Vice president C P Radhakrishnan on two-day Tamil Nadu visit; to attend convocation, cultural events

Chennai, Jan 2: Vice President C P Radhakrishnan will be on a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu beginning today, during which he will participate in a series of academic, cultural and public programmes in Chennai and Vellore.

During his visit to Chennai, all arrangements have been made for the convocation ceremony of Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute University, where the Vice President will deliver the convocation address. Graduands from various disciplines will be awarded their degree certificates at the ceremony.

Later in the day, Radhakrishnan will attend the Ram Nath Goenka Sahitya Samman ceremony in the city. He is also scheduled to grace a public reception at Kalaivanar Arangam and attend a civic reception hosted by the Tamil Nadu Governor at Chennai Lok Bhavan.

On the second day of his visit, the Vice President will travel to Vellore to attend a function there. He will also participate in the 9th Siddha Day celebrations to be held in Chennai.

The visit is expected to highlight the Vice President’s engagement with education, literature, traditional medicine and public outreach in the state.
