Bantwal, Jan 3: A habitual offender facing 14 criminal cases has been externed from Dakshina Kannada district to Hassan district following administrative orders.
The accused, identified as Ganesha alias Ganesha Poojary, residing at Badakodi House, Kepu village, Bantwal taluk, under the jurisdiction of Vittal police station. Police records indicate he is implicated in cases including assault, rioting, attempt to murder, gambling, and obstructing a government servant from performing official duties, highlighting a pattern of repeated criminal behaviour.

Acting on a report submitted by the station house officer of Vittal police station, the assistant commissioner and sub-divisional magistrate, Mangaluru, issued an order to transfer the accused from Dakshina Kannada district to Alur police station in Hassan district.
In compliance with the order, the accused was safely escorted by police and handed over to the Alur police station, officials said. Authorities added that the action aims to maintain public order and prevent further criminal incidents within the district.
