Panaji, Jan 3: Two four-wheelers belonging to the Directorate of Panchayats have gone missing from Caranzalem, prompting a police investigation.

According to Mahadev J. Araundekar, Director of Panchayats, the vehicles were initially collected during a clean-up drive organized by the late Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP). They were parked at the Kamrabhat area near International Hotel, Caranzalem, along with other old and abandoned government vehicles.

Araundekar noted that the vehicles had remained at the Caranzalem location for an extended period. “On September 2, 2025, we discovered that the vehicles were no longer there. Despite searching the area and making local inquiries, we could not locate them,” he said.

Panaji police have registered an FIR against unidentified persons, and the investigation into the theft is currently ongoing.
