Mangaluru: Absconding accused arrested after two years in Mulki

Mangaluru, Jan 5: Mulki police have arrested an accused who had been absconding for the past two years after failing to appear before the court in connection with a criminal case.

The arrested accused has been identified as Prahlad (19), a resident of K S Rao Nagar, Kolnadu, Mulki, police said.

According to police, a case was registered against Prahlad at the Mulki police station in Crime No. 78/2023 under Sections 306 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. In connection with the case, the court had issued arrest warrants against him on multiple occasions. However, the accused had been evading arrest and remained absconding for nearly two years.

Following sustained efforts, Mulki police succeeded in tracing and arresting the accused. He was later produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody, police added.
