Mangaluru, Jan 5: A major fire accident was reported at a private factory located in the Baikampady Industrial Area here on Sunday, resulting in heavy losses estimated at around Rs 1 crore.

The fire broke out at Acolyte Industrial Systems Private Limited, a private factory owned by Razak. Preliminary information suggests that a short circuit triggered the blaze, which quickly spread across the premises.

Several private goods stored inside the factory were completely gutted in the fire, leading to substantial financial damage. Fortunately, the incident occurred in the early morning hours when no workers were present at the factory, and hence no casualties were reported.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Panambur police rushed to the spot and carried out an inspection. Firefighting teams from MCF, NMPT, and the fire and emergency services arrived at the location with four fire tenders and managed to bring the blaze under control.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
