Mangaluru, Jan 6: Vijesh Kumar, a MESCOM employee serving under the Belthangady division, tragically lost his life in an electrocution accident while on duty.

On January 6, an insurance cheque worth Rs 1 crore was formally handed over to his dependants at the MESCOM Corporate Office.

Speaking on the occasion, MESCOM officials highlighted that the utility provides a Personal Group Accident Insurance facility to all its employees who hold salary savings accounts with Canara Bank. “This scheme ensures that families of our employees are financially supported in the event of accidents during duty,” a spokesperson said.

Under the scheme, MESCOM employees are covered for unforeseen accidents, offering a crucial safety net for their families. The distribution of the cheque to Vijesh Kumar’s family is part of the corporation’s ongoing commitment to employee welfare and support in times of tragedy.
