Kundapur: Innova car hits bike, three including toddler injured

Kundapur, Jan 8: Three persons, including a three-and-a-half-year-old child, were injured after an Innova car collided with a motorcycle on Wednesday afternoon near Balikere in Devalakunda village on the Hemmadi–Kollur main road.

The injured have been identified as bike rider Raghavendra (46), a resident of Guddammadi, his wife Nagrathna (40) and their daughter Dhanvi (3). The family was travelling from Nempu towards Hemmadi when an Innova car, driven by a person identified as Josh and coming from the opposite direction, rammed into their motorcycle.

Dhanvi, who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to hospital with the help of highway patrol police. Head constable Rama and police constable Kiran promptly transported the child in their vehicle to a private hospital in Kundapur. Later, the child along with her parents was shifted to Manipal Hospital for further treatment.

Kundapur traffic police sub-inspector Sudha Prabhu and staff visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered at the Kundapur traffic police station.
