Udupi: Elderly pedestrian dies after being hit by bike on NH-66

Udupi, Jan 9: In a tragic accident on Wednesday morning, an elderly man was killed after being struck by a bike near the Ucchila bus stop on National Highway 66.

The deceased has been identified as Sadashiv Kotian (65), a resident of Paniyuru Center. Reports said he was crossing the road while heading from Padubidri towards Kapu, when the bike hit him.

Severely injured from the impact, Sadashiv Kotian succumbed on the way to Udupi District Hospital, authorities confirmed. He had been employed at a hotel in Mulur and was commuting from his home to work when the accident occurred.

A case has been registered with the Padubidri police station, and further investigation is underway.
