Udupi, Jan 14: It was a ‘dream come true’ day at SMVITM campus on January 13 by adding Four significant milestone facilities namely, ‘Imaginators’ Gallery’, ‘Evaluation Centre’, ‘Cricket Net Practice Pitch’ and most coveted ‘Student Activity Center’ towards holistic development. Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, president of Shri Sode Group of Educational Institutions, Udupi inaugurated them, in line with the accelerated growth road map of SMVITM.
‘Imaginators’ Gallery’ is developed to showcase the varied talents of students and staff to the external world, be it innovative products or projects, gadgets or art works, drawings or paintings, posters or models, Institutional students’ curiosity, creativity and imagination powers to be projected effectively to visitors and guests.





‘Evaluation Centre’ will provide all the facilities associated with the examination related aspects of SMVITM, an Autonomous Institution under VTU, Belagavi.
‘Cricket Net Practice Pitch’ facility will be a major boost to Sports & Games in this campus, the demand of students since long. It will attract and promote sportsman spirit & healthy well-being of students from Sode Group of Institutions.
State-of-the-art ‘Student Activity Centre’ is an ambitious project to nurture & support co-curricular & extra-curricular activities of students in a designated place. It’s an area where students can apply their imaginative, creative minds and get hands-on experience, develop and convert interesting, innovative ideas into practice, and think out of the box to find solutions to real time technological problems. It’s a platform to spend quality time on constructive works, thinking beyond the conventional boundaries of syllabus and working beyond the regular academic hours too. It’s a place where they can practice and get trained for techno-cultural fests, talent shows and extra-curricular competitions, focusing on their all-round development.
The event was presided by His Holiness Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Sri Sode Vadiraja Math. P Srinivasa Thantry, vice president and Rathna Kumar, secretary of SSVMET were the guests of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Swamiji enlightened the students on the need of overall personality development to sustain in this new era of technology along with excelling in academics.
The CEO of Sode Group of Institutions, Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal spoke on the occasion, highlighting the need and merits of each new facility towards the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular developments and physical wellbeing of the students. He declared the facilities are open for usage to the students belonging to all institutions under the Sode Group and appealed for optimal and judicious utilization of these attractions for their total personality development in the days to come.
Dr Nagaraj Bhat, principal, SMVITM welcomed the gathering. Harish Belman, member of the Governing Body and all Heads/Coordinators of Sode Group of Institutions were present.
The programme started with the welcome dance by Poorvika, a second-year student of SMVITM. Students Deepa Prabhu and Chirashree compered the formal programme.
