Mangaluru: Two held for attempted ganja sale near Yeyyadi

Mangaluru, Jan 16: Kadri police arrested two men for allegedly attempting to sell ganja near Haripadavu, close to Yeyyadi, in a swift operation on Wednesday.

Police seized around 1 kg and 85 grams of ganja, estimated at Rs 35,000, from the accused. The arrested individuals have been identified as Jagadeesh alias Jagga (28) and Chetan (25).

According to Kadri police sub-inspector Pratibha K H, acting on a tip-off at about 3.30 pm on January 14, the team raided Gurubavu, an interior area of Haripadavu. “We noticed the accused stopping a two-wheeler and attempting to sell ganja. They were immediately taken into custody, and the contraband was seized,” she said.

A case has been registered against the duo at the Kadri police station, and further investigation is underway. Authorities said such operations are part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
