UAE’s ‘Day of Solidarity’ aerial parade to sweep all seven emirates

Abu Dhabi, Jan 17: The United Arab Emirates is set to witness one of its most ambitious and visually striking military displays as the ‘Day of Solidarity’ aerial parade takes to the skies on Saturday, January 17, 2026, covering all seven emirates in a single coordinated flypast.

Organised by the Ministry of Defence, the parade will feature elite pilots of the UAE Armed Forces, including the renowned Al Fursan aerobatic team, painting the sky with the national colours as they traverse the country’s coastline from west to east. The event is designed as a symbol of unity, strength and national solidarity.

The aerial display will unfold in two phases, beginning with a helicopter flypast lasting nearly two hours, followed by a high-speed fighter jet finale spanning around 34 minutes. Residents are advised to be ready during the designated flypast window at prominent corniche and flagpole locations in each emirate, as the aircraft will be moving swiftly across regions.

Abu Dhabi Corniche will serve as the starting point of the parade, offering wide open spaces for families and spectators. In Dubai, Kite Beach and the JBR stretch are expected to witness dramatic low-level passes by fighter jets, promising a thunderous and thrilling experience. Further north, the Al Qawasim Corniche in Ras Al Khaimah will provide sweeping views as the formation heads towards the mountainous terrain. The final stop will be Umbrella Beach in Fujairah, where the late afternoon light over the Gulf of Oman is expected to offer a stunning backdrop for the concluding flypast.

The parade will include a mix of helicopters and military jets flying in tight, coordinated formations. Select aircraft are expected to release coloured smoke trails, subject to weather and visibility conditions, highlighting the UAE flag in the sky. Defence officials said the display showcases precision flying, long-distance coordination and symbolic formations reflecting national unity.

Authorities have underlined that strict safety and airspace regulations will be in force throughout the event. A complete no-drone zone has been declared for the duration of the parade, warning that private drones could pose serious risks to military aircraft.

Spectators have been urged to comply fully with safety advisories.

Traffic congestion is expected near major corniche areas, particularly in Dubai and Sharjah, around half an hour before the flypast. Residents planning to attend have been advised to arrive at least an hour early to secure parking and viewing spots.

The ‘Day of Solidarity’ aerial parade is being positioned not just as a military showcase but as a community event aimed at bringing residents together in open public spaces. For many, it will be a rare opportunity to witness the nation’s aerial capabilities up close, while for others it will serve as a powerful reminder of the UAE’s unity, resilience and calm strength.
