Udupi, Jan 17: As the historic Sri Krishna Matha Paryaya Mahotsava unfolds in Udupi, special attention has been given to the welfare of police personnel entrusted with maintaining law and order during the grand celebrations. Recognising their relentless service and long hours of duty, elaborate food arrangements have been organised exclusively for the deployed police force.

A temporary kitchen has been set up near the Mission Compound to ensure timely and hygienic meals for the personnel on Paryaya duty. From the early hours, a dedicated team has been working to prepare wholesome and traditional dishes, ensuring that no officer misses a meal amid tight security schedules.

For breakfast, police personnel were served a nutritious spread that included semiya pulao, upma and sheera. The special lunch menu reflected the region’s rich culinary traditions, featuring chapati, ghee rice, flavourful gravy, holige, appe payasa, and rice, providing both nourishment and a touch of festive warmth.

Food preparation commenced on January 16 at the Sri Krishna Matha dining hall, with around 14 experienced cooks involved in the process. The Sri Krishna Matha has taken full responsibility for providing meals to police personnel for three days, including breakfast arrangements on January 18. In addition to these meals, police personnel will also be served prasada at the Krishna Matha in the afternoon.

With over 1,500 police personnel deployed from within Udupi district and neighbouring districts to ensure the smooth conduct of the Paryaya celebrations, the importance of proper food and rest arrangements has been well acknowledged. The Paryaya welcome committee, under its direct supervision, has ensured that these arrangements are carried out efficiently, reflecting respect and gratitude towards the police force.

These thoughtful arrangements stand as a gesture of appreciation for the police personnel who work tirelessly behind the scenes, enabling devotees and visitors to participate in the Paryaya Mahotsava peacefully and safely.
