Bengaluru, Jan 21: To enhance the tourism experience in the city, the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) has launched London-style ‘Ambari Double Decker’ buses in Bengaluru from Wednesday.

Initially, three double-decker buses have been pressed into service to cater to tourists visiting the State capital. Earlier, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) had operated double-decker buses for tourists, but the service was discontinued due to financial losses.

With the aim of promoting tourism in Bengaluru, KSTDC has now decided to reintroduce double-decker buses on the London model. The buses will operate along routes covering major tourist destinations, including Lalbagh, Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha, K.R. Market and Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, among other prominent city landmarks.

Tourists can book tickets in advance through the KSTDC website, officials said. The ticket price has been fixed at Rs 180.

The buses will operate daily from 10.30 am to 8 pm, offering visitors a convenient and scenic way to explore the city’s key attractions.
