Elderly man goes missing from Beltangady

Beltangady, Jan 24: A 70-year-old man suffering from mental depression has gone missing after leaving his house in Kokradi village of Beltangady taluk.

The missing person has been identified as Raghu Shetty, also known as Annoji, a resident of Kokradi. According to police, Raghu Shetty had been living alone near his brother’s house for the past one-and-a-half years, while taking his meals at his brother’s residence.

He was reportedly undergoing treatment for his illness and was receiving medication from a hospital in Mangaluru.

On January 18, Raghu Shetty left his house and did not return, following which his son Ashok Shetty lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at the Venur police station.

Police have appealed to the public to inform the nearest police station if anyone comes across Raghu Shetty or has any information regarding his whereabouts.
